2008 General Rules

Rules this year differ from rules in previous years. All cars must comply with 2008 rules. Rules of other tracks and past rules DO NOT APPLY.

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that, in his opinion, do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL!
All special classes not covered in this rulebook will be run according to their own established rules or will be governed by rules established at a later date.

1. The driver shall be the sole spokesman for car owner and pit crew in any and all matters pertaining to the race and the driver only shall take part in any arbitration with the officials in charge.
2. The driver shall be the person responsible for the actions of the entire pit crew.
3. All cars MUST have a fire extinguisher.
4. All drivers MUST have a complete 1 or 2-piece fire suit. FULL SUIT MUST BE WORN ANYTIME CAR IS ON TRACK.
5. Safety harnesses and helmets must be no more than 3 years old.
6. All drivers MUST have a helmet on at all times while on the track. Window nets ARE REQUIRED.
7. All cars MUST have fuel cell and MUST be securely mounted in the trunk area. Rollover valve or flap in fuel cell is MANDATORY.
8. All cars MUST be numbered on doors and roof with numbers large enough for scoring tower to read - 3” wide x 18” high. 8” numbers on rear. All cars must be neatly painted and lettered with number colors contrasting from body colors. Sponsors names must not interfere with numbers. NO duplicate numbers registered. If duplicate number is used, letter must be 30% of number size. (Example-9s)
9. Electrical master switch REQUIRED. MUST be lettered ON/OFF and be located behind driver.
10. All cars will be clearly lettered “Alcohol ” or “Gas” on the upper rear drivers door area for fire personnel safety reasons.
11. All cars and drivers MUST be registered. Registration fee is $30.00 on the FIRST night of participation.
12. MUST be 14 years or older to obtain a pit pass. NO EXCEPTIONS!
13. MUST be 16 years old or have a driver’s license to race in stock car events.
14. NO drinking of alcohol allowed in pits at any time before or during the races. All features MUST be completed. Violation of this rule will be cause for immediate dismissal from the premises.
15. Only DRIVERS and/or PIT OFFICIALS allowed on racetrack surface. NO EXCEPTIONS!
16. Pit speed limit is 5 M.P.H. NO EXCEPTIONS!
17. NO intentional draining of any car fluids in pit area. NO EXCEPTIONS! Barrels are provided for fluids.
18. NO fighting allowed in pits or on racetrack surface. Legal action will be taken against anyone physically or verbally abusing any track official. NO EXCEPTIONS!
19. NO pit crew allowed on track to work on cars for any reason. NO EXCEPTIONS!
20. All cars MUST be lined up in their starting positions and ready to go when the heats and features go onto the track. If not in position, car will start at the rear of the line-up. NO EXCEPTIONS!
21. Absolutely NO radios OR scanners allowed at speedway for reasons of interference with track radios. NO EXCEPTIONS!
22. You will be suspended from the pit area a minimum of 2 weeks and/or fined a minimum of $100.00 for violation of any rules containing the words NO EXCEPTIONS!
23. Drivers signing in with the car MUST drive car. NO driver changes unless cleared with track officials. Points are given to the driver - NOT to the car.
24. Any cars involved in an accident causing a restart or losing forward motion on track MUST go to the rear of the line-up on the restart. NO EXCEPTIONS!
25. Two-spinout rule applies. First spinout - go to the rear; second spinout - go to the pits.
26. In case of rain, ALL participants MUST keep BOTH wristband AND ticket stub, which will be good for admission the following week. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS!
27. Any and all interpretations of these rules are left up to track officials. Track officials’ decisions are FINAL!
28. Special races may have a variance to some of the proceeding rules.
29. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. on race day. All cars must be signed in by 6:30 or start at the rear of the line-up. ONLY THE DRIVER IS ALLOWED to sign in car and draw for position. NO PHONE CALL DRAWS ALLOWED. Hot laps will start precisely at 7:00 and races at 7:30. NO EXCEPTIONS!
30. All weights and ballasts MUST be secured with at least two (2) 1/2” bolts. Weights MUST be painted white and have correct car number on them. NO EXCEPTIONS!
31. All cars MUST have lifting hooks on BOTH front AND rear and be clearly visible. NO EXCEPTIONS!
32. NO mirrors, two-way radios or listening devices allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS!
33. NO cars will be allowed on the track after the caution light is turned out.

THESE RULES ARE DESIGNED TO BE SPECIFIC. IF THE RULES DO NOT SAY YOU CAN, THEN ASSUME THAT YOU CANNOT. THIS SHOULD HELP TO KEEP THE CLASSES INEXPENSIVE AND COMPETITIVE.
SAFETY IS A MAJOR CONCERN TO THE TRACK OWNER AND TRACK OFFICIALS. PLEASE MAKE IT A CONCERN OF YOURS. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY CONDITIONS THAT REPRESENT A SAFETY CONCERN THAT HAVE NOT BEEN ADDRESSED OR NOTICED BY TRACK OFFICIALS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE OFFICIALS.                                                                                                         THANK YOU
