1. Competing Models: Any American Made domestic steel bodied automobile. FRONT WHEEL DRIVE ONLY. NO convertibles, jeeps, pickups, etc.
2. Engine: Four cylinder engine ONLY. Completely stock. No performance parts of any kind. Normally aspirated, NO turbo’s. Rotary engine NOT PERMITTED. Maximum of four (4) valves per cylinder.
3. Fuel System: Stock carb fuel injection permitted if car came equipped with it. If equipped with electric fuel pump make sure pump is wired thru oil pressure switch. If vehicle is not equipped with a switch, it must be added.
4. Suspension: Stock OEM parts only. No modifications allowed.
5. Steering: Stock steering for the make and model. May use removable steering wheel.
6. Wheels/Tires/Brakes: Wheels must be STOCK. Right front oversize lug nuts recommended. Wheel spacers are NOT ALLOWED. Any DOT street legal tire - 8½ ” sidewall maximum - NO GROOVING OR SYPING. Stock brake system for make and model. All brakes must function. No brake adjusters.
7. Roll Bars: Four-post cage minimum 1½” diameter, minimum .095 wall thickness with gussets as needed, 1¾” recommended. Must have four 4x4 plates welded or bolted to floor. No bars allowed thru front firewall. Minimum two (2) door bars inside drivers’ door with 13 gauge - .095 plates welded between bars and doorsill. The two cage posts behind driver must be x-braced and brace must run diagonally from center of halo to bottom of right front cage post. No water pipe, no galvanized or aluminum, no exhaust tubing allowed. Use approved padding at any point where driver contact can occur. Minimum 3 - 1/2" bars in drivers windshield area.
8. Fuel/Fuel Cells: Racing fuel cell tanks will be in trunk area in steel container, mounted by a minimum of two (2) straps - 2” wide by 1/8” thick solid steel. Caps must be of a screw or locking type. Pump gas or racing gas allowed. No alcohol, no additives.
9. Safety: Aluminum high back seat with 5-point harness. Date tag will not be removed. No belts over 4 years old. A battery disconnect switch must be installed - window height behind driver seat. Switch must disconnect positive line from battery and must be plainly marked ON and OFF. Driver fireproof suit is MANDATORY. Fireproof gloves, shoes and safety neck brace are recommended. Rollover valve and flap in fuel cell is MANDATORY. Full-faced helmet with full shield (SNELL AS95 or M95 approved) must be worn. Full window net MANDATORY. No mirrors. All glass must be removed from vehicle. Doors must be welded or bolted shut. Tow hook, chain or cable must be installed in front AND rear. This must be visible and accessible for tow truck driver and must support the weight of your vehicle. No engine claims.
